Electrical Distribution Network

03/19/2012 12:13 PM

I wish to use a 200 KVA Generator and a 500 K.V.A supply from the national grid to power an electronics load of 500 K.V.A, and I have two transformers (step-up and step down), protective gadgets like R.M.U also an Automatic Mains Failure, for alternating the supply to minimize down time. What would be the best electrical network, possibly adding more protective gadgets for enhanced protection?

If the mains fail, how is the 200KVA genset going to power a 500KVA load?

By using an emergency 300 kVA pedal powered generator equipped with some protective gadgets for enhanced protection .

Right on muscle power.

How about investing in a 500 KVA Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) and then using the 200 KVA generator to extend the battery life.

What is this electronic load? If it is a large DC/AC drive without harmonics mitigation, you may get an offensive voltage distortion even if you would have the power capacity to run it.
