New Mexico is beginning to develop plans for a regional commercial spaceport. Might be the place to go if you're just finishing an aerospace engineering degree.

Viva Las Cruces

Las Cruces, NM will make a great location for a commercial spaceport. It's too bad that politics put so much of NASA's infrastructure in Gulf Coast states that are plagued by weather problems (e.g. launch delays). The sunny southwest is a much more logical place for launching spacecraft.

Having them launch from Florida always seemed a bit odd. I lived there for a year and the weather was unpredictable. Arizona or New Mexico always struck me as a better place.
