What is Light ON & Dark ON in Sensors?

in case of photo sensors what is meant by light on and dark on..............

It means that you get an output if you detect something (Light On) or if you fail to detect something (Dark On).

Light on = Output of sensor goes high when light is detected.

Dark on = Output of sensor goes high when no light is detected.

A selectable feature that allows you to chose between having a signal from the sensor when the light beam is broken (dark on) or when it is NOT broken (light on).

Darkon is a fun hobby for those in the Maryland area. The meaning of anything changes with context. This is why you should contact the photo sensor manufacturer in some fashion. I'd start by reading the manual or web page.
