Twin paradox

05/08/2007 7:44 AM

May 7(22 hours ago) twin paradox
u all know about twin paradox.
let S goes in space with a velocity 0.8C.His twin brother E stays on the earth. As seen by earth observer- S is younger than E.
In another case if observer goes with S in the space then what he will obserb----
(A) E will younger than the S.
(B) S will younger than the E.(as in the above described case)

Hi Anand.

I'm afraid your post is a little incomprehensible!

I have a short series on the twin paradox in my CR4 Blog, starting with: http://cr4.globalspec.com/blogentry/696/Paradoxes-of-Relativity-Part-2A-The-Twin-Paradox, if you are interested in the subject.

Why is it that people get all taken in by this nonsence? It is all relative. Traveling fast does not make a blind bit of difference as to how we age. Humbug!

Hi Guest, so I take it that you do not believe physicists when they say they find that particles moving at 0.99c in a particle accelerator "age" 7 times slower than slow moving particles?

By "age slower" is meant that the half-life increases seven-fold.

As I said all is relative, How long is the Half life of the particles how do you know their speed? Too many things are just not proven. No I do not take it as a fact.

I presume that there are as well other scientific aspects you do not believe?

Of course the uncertainty of measurements is a major factor but it is taken care of. Physics are a very precise science and since we are on an engineering blog many times it is difficult to get the point. In our work we to often forget that what we do is applied physics and only in a very simplified way.

In general if you do not believe some thing the best way is to inform yourself since today there is a huge bank of information vailable via the net.

How does light propagate ? How do electromagnetic waves ever get any where? Now there is a thought! Satellites going through space should last for ever their power supplies never running out. Explain these I have had many discussions with many who think that they know but can never really get it to work.
