Socks from Corn?

05/08/2007 8:57 AM

Ingeo(TM) is a corn-based fiber that is poised to go head-to-head against polyester. Discovered by NatureWorks, the fiber's natural antimicrobial and moisture-wicking properties make it ideal for socks. At the same time, the fiber's biodegradability makes it a hot item with environmentalists, especially since fewer greenhouse gases are produced during its manufacture when compared to petroleum-based fibers.

Sometimes my feet smell like Fritos corn chips. Do you think these socks would make it worse?

Joking aside, they are using the corn sugar, same as what is being used for (non-cellulosic) biofuel. Kinda bad timing...

Hi Munky. I had your problem for years, then my doctor recomended that I wear pure cotton socks and since then my feet rarely sweat and never smell. Spencer.
