	Hello all, there is a HV Motor (6.6kV, 1500kW) which drives a Centrifugal Pump. The Motor is operated by a Variable Speed Drive (VSD), and as per API 670 the Pump is having a Machinery Monitoring System (MMS) as well. Now, where would the RTDs from Motor Windings (6 Nos.) and Motor Bearings (2 Nos.) be connected, at VSD or MMS? Thanks in advance to you all.

	RTDs require a specific type of input monitor device, i have never seen a VFD that has that capability buit in. Usually the VFD will also have a Motor Protection Relay (MPR) associated with it and that is what will have the RTD input capability associated with it. Not knowing exactly what your MMS consists of, I can't give you explosive advice, but if it has an option for RTD inputs, that would be my choice. __________________ All I every really wanted to be, was... 	Go through VSD cataloque to see whether facilities are incorporated for connecting the 2 RTDs __________________ pnaban
