Knee Point Voltage Calculation for Gen. Differential cl-x ct

04/09/2012 2:56 PM

hai,

we are using differential protection relay 7UM62 siemens in 2500kva, 440V generator. can anyone help to do the kneepoint voltage calculation, is it the same way and formulae for transformer differential ct's calculation. ie for maximum fault current in primary is Ift = kVA/ (0.415x1.732x Z) can we use the same for generator also? we are using the ct 3000/1A, class-x, 15VA. thanks.

instead of Z, you have to use %x"d for a generator.
