Amazing. That was on the Science Channel, or one of those TV shows some time ago.

I wish I had the intestinal fortitude to do stuff like that. I'm sure it pays very well.

I don't know. It was in another email I got from a friend of mine. I noticed there was another guy on the lines behind him. I'm guessing they go up there to check line connections to the towers, maybe clear out large bird's nests..................

It kind of puts the argument that EMF's or living near power lines, being bad for people, in perspective. These guys would be the first to show symtoms.

They are repairing any small breaks in the conductors. Before they fail the cable.

I know I've seen this on cable TV as well. I still get vertigo watching it.

Those two guys gotta have some big brass ones.....

Hey, isn't that guy's name "Sparky"? LOL

Reminds me of my young and dumb days of being a Chinook flight engineer, sling loading everything under the sun. Occasionally, we would have a net sling load full of rations, soda and beer. It was not unheard for us to shinny down to the net and help ourselves to a couple of cases of goodies.

All done at 3000 feet, of course, and without the pilots having a clue (so we didn't have to share with them)!
