Diesel Generator

04/18/2012 5:38 PM

Type

CUMMINS

AKSA

Model

DK100G6

AKSA AJD100-U

I want to buy a diesel Generator in Canada, the two generators I am comparing are:

Type

CUMMINS

AKSA

Model

DK100G6

AKSA AJD100-U

these generators are about 100KW, and the price is the same

I am wondering which one is a better unit, if some one has a positive/negative experience with these units

Rhetorical questions - no need to reply:

  • How close is the supplier to the installation in the event of a call-out being needed? What is the value of the downtime during the wait?
  • How easy is it to get hold of and fit any replacement parts after the equipment has passed its warranty cut-off date? What is the value of the downtime during the wait?
  • What is the level of spares stockholding at the premises? How easy is it to get hold of critical spares? What is the value of the downtime during the wait?
  • How is the training programme for maintenance operatives on each brand of equipment?

These are the sorts of questions to ask to differentiate between the two units and to favour one over the other.
