Reference International ISO OR API Standard For Air Compressors

05/16/2012 12:55 AM

ISO 10440 Part 2 covers requirement for Oil Free Rotary Compressors for applications up to 0.2MPa (2bar) and will not be valid as our application requires 11bar. Oil free compressors are limited in their design pressures due to the absence of oil seal.

Can any one inform us relevant standard who shall cover our requirements of design pressure 11 bar for oil free rotary compressors,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Oil free compressors are limited in their design pressures due to the absence of oil seal."

I don't think so. We have several oil free centrifugal compressors with oil seal up to 40 bar running since last 25 years.

I don't have experience about screw compressors. All we have are centrifugals of very large capacities 18000 to 110000 nm3/hr. They are as per API 617 and API 672 standards. It is utilised for feed to air separation plant for producing oxygen (oil free is must), utility air and instrument air too with drier.
