Insulation Film

05/21/2012 7:41 AM

Hello,

We have 400KVA alternator that need to be rewind, but we cannot find in the market the insulation material it is a 3 ply paper/something like mylar(milky white)/paper the overall thickness is around 0.80mm I measure the middle film looks like mylar the size is around 0.30mm. the winding insulation class is H. There are two kinds of insulation used, one is 0.60mm 3 ply also.

Anybody know the exact name of the insulator? I found one called Nomex/Mylar/Nomex but the max thickness they have is 0.50mm.

We have expierence in rewinding motor from 100hp down to 0.37kw. But Generator not yet.

"NOMEX TYPE 410" is available in 12 thicknesses (0.05 to 0.76mm). It can withstand temperatures from 200 to 250 degrees without breakdown. All characteristics are available (Electrical, mechanical, thermal & chemical).

Just google NOMEX TYPE 410.

I used it and its good.
