Refractories of Cement Duct

06/01/2012 8:07 AM

The duct which I consider refractories inside is the one that delivers the waste gas from AQC(Air Quenching Cooler) to WHRB(Waste Heat Recovery Boiler) and the average gas temperature is 430 degrees in Celsius and it can go up to 600 and down to 200. The cement plant burns alternative fuels, for example, tires, vinyls and their portion is about 30% of total fuels. There may be several options for refractories and I consider castables or bricks or ceramic board. Could someone recommend which one can be preferred in our situation? Or Would it be fine if we only increase wall thickness of A515-60 (the material I consider to use for duct) instead of refractories?

Going on past experience. Try an alternative, shotcrete refactory such as Gunite.
