Plastic Material?

Some plastic(?) bag for cooking in oven..It says.."let the oven temp raise close 180 ºC"..what plastic is it?

Oven bags are made from Nylon, or some form of polyimide, as far as I know.

Not sure about that temperature.

Maybe you should google.

Roasting bags = polyester.

Actual it depends on the manufacture. Reynolds makes theirs from a heat resistant nylon.

I would never believe polyester or nylon could resist that temp and being enough safe for cocking so must be much superior than we find for engineering purposes?

As always you best googler..I tested your data:Nylon bagg.film:400ºF(204ºC!!!!!),Stretchlon: common resistance: 124ºC.-
