Seeking special humidity recorder

05/13/2007 11:03 PM

Does anybody know where to obtain a humidity recorder that meets the following specifications?

Operating temperature: 100 degrees Celcius.

Humidity level: 100%

Able to withstand corrosive effects of hydrogen gas at high temperature.

Thanks.

Thanks for your help, but unfortunately, I have already evaluated it several days earlier and it didn't meet my requirements. Thanks anyway.

If Vaisala doesn't have something off the shelf, maybe they can design something for you: www.vaisala.com

YOU WON'T FIND AND RECORDER THAT WILL OPERATE AT THAT TEMPERATURE. WHY NOT GO TO SOMEONE LIKE KELE IN MEMPHIS FOR A HUMIDITY TRANSMITTER, PUT THE SENSOR IN THE AREA TO MONITOR, PLACE THE TRANSMITTER IN A OCCUPIED SPACE WITHIN 100O FT AND MONITOR, ALARM AND RECORD OFF A DDC CONTROLLER SUCH AS AN ASI 8540 WHICH HAS ALL THESE FUNCTIONS BUILT INTO THE FIRMWARE AND SIMPLE DROP AND DRAG PROGRAMMING. THE STANDARD PROTOCOL IS OLE FOR PROCESS BUT THEY HAVE SIMPLE SERVER PROGRAMS TO TIE YOU TO LON, BACNET MODBUS ETC. THE ACCURACY, DURABILITY AND FUNCTIONALITY OF THIS SET-UP IS ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT. IF YOU NEED MORE INFO E-MAIL ME AT CONWAYMECH@YAHOO.COM.

Thanks for the advise, Conway. I'm intrigued by your suggestion. I have to discuss with my professor whether this is an acceptable arrangement. If it is, you can be sure I'll try it out.

I do not know of any recorder rated to opoerate at 100 C. You can use a transmitter and a seperate recorder. Here is a link to information about a transmitter that will likely offer a good solution.

100degC and 100% humidity is the condition present at the spout of a boiling kettle at sea level. Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct. What I'm building is a gas humidifier using wet steam as the moistures source.
