The thing is, that if it doesn't work in its proposed location, it can be positioned somewhere else instead. A portable port, no less.

Did they not do this during the 2nd world war? I cant remember the name of it but they created an oversized floating harbour to contain and load the (either)Normandy (or D Day) invasion flotilla. My memory is a bit fuzzy, been long day(4am start) ready to stare at inside of eyelids (9pm).
