Printed Parts for Airplanes and Autos?

07/14/2012 6:03 PM

Boeing says it plans to try to print airplane wings. The WSJ says that auto parts may be made by 3D printers. I would like to see walls made this way. Here is the article:http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303933404577505080296858896.html?mod=WSJ_Tech_LEADTop

I think it is not only possible, but doable.

I think the day will come that sees man implanted with artificial intelligence that will boggle our primitive minds. Maybe not even implanted.

Just hold the LynDoor™Industries AI module close to your brow and the world's total knowledge will be at your disposal.

Of course, most pud knockers will still come to CR4 to ask how to hold the thing.

Plz Sirs, Which way do I put the batteries in it?

What will happen if I take some wires out and hook them up backwards?

Also where do I put the batteries in and can you give me the name of a reputable manufacturer in south west Pakistan as well?

I will need a metallurgical analysis of the battery casings as well.

Jesshhhh, you guys really crack me up! LOL

Q: Now, if you reverse the wiring and put the damn gadget up to your noggin', would it drain all knowledge from your brain?

I think that would depend on the person involved.

In some instances definitely in others maybe a bit and in more than we all care to admit to having worked with/for,

as far as I know you cant draw anything from a sealed chamber thats already in a state of high vacuum.

Couple of members come to mind here when talking about cranial vacuums.

I can think of a few that would fit well into the sealed aspect.

Nothing new is ever getting in and nothing old is ever going to come out!

The lack of detail in this article reminds me of the marketing/sales exec at a company that I worked for a few years back. He saw an article in Popular Science magazine about a new LCD display that was in color. For some odd reason, he decided to sell terminals with these new displays. The trouble was that, in 1990, they were still in development! No one had manufactured quantities yet. It ended up costing the company to re-write the contract without the color displays.

Bottom line, be careful what you let the marketing guys see lest they sell something that doesn't exist. And, who knows, maybe we'll see "printed" parts soon.

Great find. I had found it once before, but lost it. That is what gave me the idea of using it for wall modules of different types on simple homes. The "printer" would be much smaller and less expensive. Here is a technical brief I found on one of the links.http://d-shape.com/tecnologia.htm I will be following the progress of this technique. It is very well suited for complex architectural design, as shown on your link.
