Transformer Oil

In a 400/6.6 KV x-mer, oil experience voltage upto 400 KV between phase and potential diff between Ht-LT is also high but during BDV test oil break-downs only at 80 KV , How ?

The distance between the electrodes in a break down test is much smaller than you would find in your transformer. Therefore you will get a figure along the lines of XXKV/cm.

80kV Breakdown voltage is across a gap of about 2.5mm. Whereas within the transformer tank, you have much larger gap between the live winding and the earthed tank.
