Hello

Please go to www.metaldata.ru. You may find what you need.

Good morning Hussain358.

I'm not sure that API lists beams or plates; all my API work was Pipe, tubes, and couplings and sucker rods.

So understanding the taxonomy of products will be important to you.

Trying to find equivalent standards and specs is different from just 'matching chemistries.'

Another source for finding alternatives of steel products is :

http://www.key-to-steel.com/;

THe book that I consult daily is Stahlschlussel, but it is "grade focussed" rather than "product focused."

I have also used www.metalinfo.com but I would not recommend it to a layperson with out some training- its search engine uses text strings and so it will return all possibilities that contain such a string- so it could give you magnesium castings or other materials based on the character descriptors, not just steels.

Iwould urge you to order the ASTM structural volume, JIS standards book for structurals too. Finally, get product catalogs from the major mills, they will show the equivalent grades in a chart along with their "preferred" designation.
