Convert Flat-Screen Television (Panasonic TX-32LXD60) from UK to Belgium

05/16/2007 3:38 PM

Hello

Does anybody have an answer - Panasonic certainly did not! We just (last year) bought a Panasonic LCD Tv - TX-32LXD60 - but are now moving from the UK to Belgium. Will this work over there, or will it need to be converted, and if so where do I go?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Best,

Arnold.

PAL is mostly used in Europe with a few exceptions? and NTSC is used in the states. I used to have a world map with the Broadcast format areas labeled. I wonder though if it will accept the digital(HD) broadcasts though. I guess this only matters if you are pulling your programing off air as opposed to cable or satelite provider.

If what you are saying is "Panasonic does not know!" then I am apalled. This is a good reason NEVER to buy Panasonic products in the future....that is not customer service!

I feel that you will have to try it.

If you are talking about the inbuilt tuner, & if the tuner is DVB-T and Belgium transmits DVB-T signals, it should work fine (provided you understand the language that is!!). DVB-T seems to be a universal standard. I bought a DVB-T receiver in the UK and I use it all over europe!

If it is an analog tuner, (the design is really old if that is true) you may have problems if they transmit German PAL as the distance between the sound and the picture infos is 6MHZ, whereas the K has 5.5MHZ. This means either a good picture or good sound.

Reputable Japenese manufacturers make (made?) TVs that would receive both sound signals some years ago, what the state is today I haven't a clue....

It really does not matter as long as you have a way of connecting a sat receiver or Video recorder to say a SCART connector on the TV as this will always work.

If you only want to watch UK Sat TV, and you have all the UK equipment, and you know how to align it to the sat itself, it will work just like in the UK. You just might want to increase the size of the dish to make sure you get a good signal.....

I watch UK TV from Germany with no problems at all......
