Boiler Feed Pump

can any one tell, whether the line size of balancing leak off line in BFP have any significance.

If it so, how to select the line size

Keep the average velocity in it between 1 and 3m/s.

I would size the leak -off to be about 10% of rated flow so that the temperature rise from suction to delivery in the feedwater does not exceed 9 deg F or about 4 deg C.
