Control Valve Controller

08/27/2012 9:53 AM

Hi there!

I have Flow control valve which is installed on discharge line of booster pump. This flow control valve uses to supply our wells. After start up and normalized. The time i am going to put one of my control valve (FLOW) in AUTO mode it goes back to MANUAL mode. Kindly help me trace the possible problem.

Thanks.

I don't suppose you have the only Flow Control Valve ever made. It seems there are hundreds if not thousands of devices by that name.

I am also having a hard time visualizing a valve that has some sort of automatic control device built into the valve. If so, where does it get power to operate?

I'd like to help but my imagination is confusing me with all of the possibilities that you have not stated. Maybe you could narrow it down a little by telling us what you are setting to "Auto" and how it is connected to some specific device?

Something is causing the flow controller to revert to manual mode. You need to reseach the PID algorithm of your control system to see what conditions will cause the control mode to shed to manual.

Hello

I think what you are refering to is a control system problem rather than a control valve problem. you need to check the program with the tags/address of the auto manual station of the Control valve PID black and check what is the condition that is not allowing the valve to go to auto . May be some process condition- is configured in the program..

Hope this helps.
