At this pressure level you don't have a pressure vessel you have an explosion in progress.

Best you recheck your units of measure.

He made a mistake. He did not mean "Bar" as in pressure.

He meant to write "Barrels" as in volume.

That's the trouble when people use "Text-Talk" writing in technical correspondence.

I don't see why not - what does API 650 say? I don't have it available.

I think we can be fairly sure it doesn't deal with pressure 300000 bar!

Jasatok,

Now that we have cleared up that you are indeed talking about capacity I have the following recommendation.

Do not use one tank of 300,000 barrels. That is the old "Putting all your eggs in one basket" syndrome. Instead I would use two 150,000 barrel tanks (150 feet in diameter by 48 feet high). At the site they should be located approximately 300 feet apart and in separate dike areas.

My reason is that with one lighting strike you can have a really big fire and lose way too much inventory.

As we begin this long process of finding out if the original poster has any command of English, let me ask...

- Where in the world will the tank be located ?

- What is the liquid and what is it's vapor pressure ?

- Have foundations and soil conditions been explored ? (Much to the chagrin of the third-world, You can't put any tank anywhere !)

Please, do not use urban "text-talk"....long descriptive sentences are best ! !
