Dear friends im having catepillar VR3-SE type avr. it has 2 fuses fixed and those fuses are blowing. if anyone having experience in this avr, could u please tell me how to recover this problem.
i have already with me the first one u have send to me. it is not mentioning abt the AVR. it is showing how to connect the avr and others. i need the circuit diagram of the avr or instruction to solve it from anyone in this forum had repaired this earlier. thanks Mr joshi
The circuit diagram will never be available in the open, because it is not published. We are expected to buy a replacement unit instead. That is the present day trend in industry. If you have ingenuity, you may be able to draw the circuit yourself. Troubleshooting AVR is not rocket science. Check all accessible components individually. Most of the time, the diodes usually open or short. In your case there is a short. Good luck. Happy hunting!
In any case: Is the output of the AVR faulty? i.e. the circuit beeing fed (Field coil).
The fuses are generally on the output of the AVR(?).
Failing any discovery of faulty (shorted field etc), you will need to replace the Unit. Bettter unless you are good enough to tinker with the circuit (if so you would not be asking...).
