You'll need a 20 foot trailer to haul the batteries.

And a 200 HP Baldor DC motor will cost you $28,000.00USD.

I doubt you need 200HP continuous.

How about 200Hp for 10 seconds?

With most electric machines they can be designed for overload conditions such as 200% torque for 60 seconds, or even 400% for 15 seconds. Now you will be in a 50 or 60HP motor frame. Electric motors are rated for continuous output. For the short term an appropriately designed motor can produce far more. Most industrial motors are rated 150% for 60 seconds.

To supplement the good info above, an electric motor using a good variable speed drive will have a wide torque range. Much better than a combustion engine. This usually allow you to get a better performance with less HP. I don't know the exact ratio but it is substantial. Look at examples for conversions of similar vehicles on the net.

Good luck.

3/5 ths. 3 hp electric is equivalent to 5 hp honest rated gasoline IC engine.

Now that said if you factor in that very few vehicles ever have their engines rated in or at anything near their normal working ranges you could probably double that to 3 Hp electric will do what 10 hp in your vehicle does.

For example the V10 in my F250 is rated at something like 270~ HP at 4600+ RPM however in any realistic driving, other than first gear at 45 MPH or second at 85 MPH, it rarely ever sees over 3000 RPM and that's at 75 MPH in drive with the OD turned off. At 3000 RPM I think its more like around 160 - 175 HP at best.

Looking at running a full size pickup or van? check out this link.

Went for a ride in Kevins truck, runs real good.. But you would be

looking at about 18K worth of Lith batteries. 7500.00 for motor and controller.
