What is the limit for droop setting of Hydraulic and electronic governor

the droop is normally measured in percentage and calculated as

(no load speed - full load speed) x 100%/full load speed.

the droop is normally set at 3 -5 %. the amount of droop setting is normally provided by the vendor during commissioning. The droop setting limits are provided in the machine manual. For UG and TG type hydraulic governers the droop limit is normally at 6 %. 0% droop means isochronous governer.

You may not need droop if you have connected only one machine(generator) to the bus bar. For multiple generators connected to the bus bar you need droop settings for the governor as specified in woodwards manual.
