Printing Spreadsheet Problems

09/29/2012 10:48 AM

Hiya, I'm getting quite frustrated trying to print out a completed spreadsheet on my printer.

I've tried everything I can think of to get it to work. What happens is the printer will only print out separate column on any given A4 paper sheet, that is, I end up with 6 sheets of print out with only one column per sheet.

I've tried both Portrait and Landscape settings, down scaling (%), and fitting spreadsheet to the sheet. The encountered problem happens with all printer property settings. No matter what I do the results are indentical.

BTW, I have both MS Works Spreadsheet and OpenOffice Spreadsheet 3.2.1. Both programs produce the exact same results. Both spreadsheet layouts are identical.

What am I missing here in regard to print setup? It's maddening!

BTW, the printer is a Kodak ESP 9 "All In One Printer", which has performed flawlessly since I've owned it.......the printer is working exceptionally fine even now.

TIA!!!!

What's the operating system?

What does print preview show you?

Have you tried to highlight everything you want to print and then press control P?

Lyn, it's Windows XP Home version.

"Print Preview" show exactly the same same as what is printed out.

I have tried "highlighting even filled cell (that I want to print) and press Control-P.

None of it mattered.......

I haven't used either of the programs you mentioned (I use Excel), but you may find a Page Setup feature with a tab like this:

If so, select 'landscape' and 'fit to [1] page wide by [however many] tall'.

After playing around with the software I found out what the problem was!

It was the MARGIN SETTINGS in "Page Setup"....they had to be decreased!!!! Plus the default to "Landscape" had to be the same in Page Setup and in Print Properties!

Thanks to all that responded!!!!!!!!!!
