Use of Flow Meter Data

11/08/2012 2:15 AM

Hi,

I have a software for utility management system (for gas, steam, compressed air, cooling water etc...). Using flow meters of gas, steam, compressed air, cooling water I got their flow measurement. As flow meters are costly, implementing this is a costly job for customer. What i want to know is using this data WHAT ALL ANALYSIS I CAN GIVE TO THE CUSTOMER, which makes him that this investment is worthy?

It is up to the Customer to come up with a business case for the investment. After all, it is the Customer's business that might be investing in all these flowmeters or not, as the case may be.

Involve the customer in writing a User Requirement Specification [URS] of some sort. Engineering comes afterwards - after the URS has been agreed within the Customer's organisation, and after that organisation has approved an expenditure budget.

Whatever were you thinking?

If we assume that you purchased this software and did not steal it, that begs the question of why on earth would you buy software that you know nothing about?

And then, ask us to help you sell it to someone who may not even want it.

Consult with the maker of your software, if you have a legitimate copy.

I hope that you haven't quit your day job, yet.

It just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser.
