Controlling High Power LED with DALI or 1-10v

11/20/2012 10:29 AM

Hello, I am trying to control some high power LED modules (300-400W in total) but I want to be able to control them, preferably with DALI. I still can not find any suitable ballast (high power and DALI controlled) in the market. Does anyone have any ideas about it, or at least alternative ways to do it. I was thinking of having 2 or three of the 1-10v range in parallel connection and then try to control it as one. But I am not very confident it will be stable since the parallel connection will mess up the total resistance at the junction points. Any suggestions would be nice.

Thank you for the fast reply Joshi but I did not give enough information, my mistake. The LED modules need a constant current of 400-450 mA. And this is the hard part, because I have found controlled power supplies for voltage fed LEDs. Of course there is always the option to try converting the voltage source to current source but I'd prefer to have a solution tested by manufacturer as it is.

A few LINKS here are for constant current of 400-450 mA DALI led controllers. See to find out if this is what you require.

Thanks Joshi but I 've been through many google searches and combinations and unfortunately none gave me a satisfactory result. It is a difficult combination of all of the requirements. There can be many DALI high powered balalst, many DALI current drivers, but not a combination of the two. I guess we will have to design our own one or just go after the 1-10 solution. Thank you again for your help, really appreciate it!
