Before rating the busbar, rate the local Electrical Engineer who will be selecting it!

If questions of this weight need to be asked in an anonymous global engineering discussion forum, the facility clearly hasn't hired the appropriate people to carry out the task. Otherwise how would an answer to this question along the lines of "7/0.29 should do it" be evaluated <rhetorical question>?

If you have 1000A load, your busbar needs to be rated for at least 1000 amps...

Based on your previous CR4 posts my answer to you can be summed up in three letters

WTF

What exactly IS your role and position in that 132kV substation you say you work at?

First of all find out if the system is AC or DC . Also you have options other than bus bar. For example, you can use multiple runs of 3C x 2.5 sq. mm. Aluminium cables.

Mutiple runs of 0.5sq. mm. copper wire can also be thought of (AHAA. JUST THAT. You assumed right. COPPER IS BETTER CONDUCTOR THAN ALUMINIUM).

If project manager/client permits, you can also use Silver bus bars. Silver is even better conductor.

BEST OF LUCK IN WHATEVER YOU DO. JUST DONT FORGET TO RUN AWAY after your experiments.

ALSO WE EARNESTLY REQUEST YOU TO SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE AT THE END.
