Tribute to Ada Lovelace

12/10/2012 12:37 PM

I noticed that Google has a tribute to Ada Lovelace today. CR4 has recognized her in the past for her work as a mathematician and as one of the forerunners of computer programming. Woman of the Week - Ada Byron, Lady Lovelace.

It turns out that she was tutored heavily in math and science, something that was unusual for a women of that time period. I found her story encourage for women even today as we are still trying to encourage more young women to enter the math and science fields today, in the 21st century.

Oddly enough, Linda is kind of a convoluted tribute to two Lovelace women.

I guess programmers have a sense of humor.
