Engineering Grad Schools in the US

01/03/2013 10:56 AM

I have a friend that wants to come to the US for grad school in mechanical engineering (thinking about maybe going specifically for automotive engineering). He's asking me for advice on which schools would be best to look in to.

I'm guessing schools in Michigan would be good for automotive engineering masters or PhD programs but I honestly don't know. I've done a few google searches, but haven't seen many details on any of the schools that have come up.

Would anyone mind recommending some good grad schools for automotive or just mechanical engineering?

Purdue would be my 1st choice. UV of Michigan 2nd. Or MIT in general.

Thanks.

I'm from the south so I'm not real familiar with the northern schools. I've heard good things about Purdue in general for Mechanical Engineering. I'll tell him about these.
