Possible causes:

  • Inadequate lubrication
  • Inadequate coolant circulation
  • Internal mechanical failure
  • Engine has been dropped
  • Engine has been in mechanical impact with something else about 10% of its mass, or greater
  • Engine has been operated otherwise than in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
  • Engine has been run at excess speed
  • Etc.

The easiest option is to replace it. Without knowing the facilities available at its current location or how easy it is to move it elsewhere, it is difficult to suggest more options.

Is it still under warranty? Was it a warranty-covered failure?

What was the outcome of the telephone call to Tata's field service team's head office?

Is it just me think that we received this particular request because of the engine designation "CR4"????

Might be wrong but I am spurious curious.

Original Poster please enlighten us.

Then it's time to pay for a replacement. American Express (usual disclaimer)?
