what is the Function Of KOD(Knok out Drum) in Flare system? as the gas is going to burn in burning tip?

Amazing that people cant use google or wiki.

Simple answer is that it is not just gas that goes into the flare system and you don't want liquids coming out the top of the flare! Burning rain isn't nice! (been in a light shower of burning crude and seen a fabulous gas condensate error!) You need to knock out the liquids and return them to the process.
