Yes, if there is enough clearance for the puller.

If you have the car, measure it. If you are working on someone's elses car, buy a shop manual.

"

  • Place the tensioner pulley tool over the end of the tensioner pulley axis bolt. Rotate the tool counterclockwise and allow the serpentine belt to loosen. Remove the belt by hand. Release the tensioner pulley and remove the tensioner pulley tool.

  • Loosen the bolts on the flywheel cover, manual transaxle or torque converter cover on the automatic transaxle with a socket wrench and remove the cover. Use the flywheel holding tool to keep the flywheel from moving during removal of the harmonic balancer.

  • Loosen the center bolt from the harmonic balancer with a socket wrench. Remove the bolt and washer. Attach the balancer puller tool to the balancer by attaching its three bolts to the balancer. Remove the harmonic balancer using the harmonic balancer pulling tool. Remove the key from the crankshaft. The key is a small piece of metal that fits in a channel on the crankshaft to keep the harmonic balancer in the right position."

Do you care if the engine or harmonic balancer to be still usable? Enough C4 can remove anything.

In general, when making repairs in the engine bay, investing some time removing things out of the way more than pays for itself by making sufficient room to swing tools and gaining reasonable access to the offending part without resorting to inspection mirrors, four socket extensions, three universal joints and Harry Houdini contortions. (We won't even mention the skinned knuckles.)

Radiators, shrouds, and plastic fender wells are high on my list of things to remove and set aside when working in those regions.

Good luck with your quest.

No PWSlack, a hacksaw is not the proper tool for this, if you are going to try to help someone out please recommend the proper tool....... It's a Plasma cutter!
