I have a question about equipment. I recently installed a machine that is supposed to remove and insert valves into / out of compressed gas cylinders made of steel or aluminum. When inserting valves into steel cylinders the required torque is higher than that needed for aluminum. What I require is information on a limiting device to install on the motor to inhibit the torque. Currently the lowest possible torque that I am able to get is about 115 ft.lbs. I however need a torque as low as 65 ft.lbs to accomodate the aluminum cylinders.
There is a wheel/chain/sprocket assembly that has been installed to allow operators the ability to adjust the torque (pressure switch is installed at the end of the shaft that cuts the motor when the required torque is reached). I think that there needs to be a limiter on the motor itself.
Can anyone help me?????
