What is the difference between redundant and dual redundant control system?

Redundant in this sense implies that there is a back up system (more then one identical system.) and a redundant system may need to be manually activated or automatically activated when the main system crashes. There would be loss of service.

Dual redundant may imply that two systems are operating so that failure of one system will not cause loss of service.
