Free Web Hosting and Domain

hello,

I want to design a website for my personal use and since it is my first attempt, I wish to have free domain name. I know co.cc was available for free registration but I don't see it working now any more. Can someone suggest where can I get free domain? Also if possible please do tell any free hosting site (for php content).

A simple Yahoo search for "Free Hosting" has 228,000,000 results while one for "Free Domain" on Yahoo has 259,000,000. Try it and pick one.

A list of free domains like now-ex co.cc can be found on http://www.getfreedomain.name

Hosting is another issue, but I'm sure there are several free hosting providers around, http://freewebhosting.uk.to comes up when searching for "co.cc". :)
