02 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 OHV

01/20/2013 2:04 PM

this car recently started having issues, The car would crank and run fine til it warmed up, but when turned off after driving the fuel pump would not engage, after sitting and cooling off, the fuel pump would hum and the car would crank and run like a champ. now nothing. I have put a new pump on last Feb, and just put a new one on 3 days ago and it ran fine to the house Thurs. Jan 17,2013, but when i got home and turned the car off, it wouldn't start hummimg. Friday morning Jan.18,2013 the car started and when it got warm 180 Degrees, the car died and won't start back. I replaced the Ignition control module at a cost of $200 and it still won't start?? is there something I am missing??? new relays and all replaced?? the car turns over but the fuel pump does not hum? any suggestions would be helpful?!

Guessing at the problem is fine if you have the time and money...but if you need to get it fixed you have to troubleshoot the problem...to begin with is the pump getting power, or is it a component or break in the connection somewhere....trace it back....make sure you have a good ground connection to the pump....run a wire from the battery pos direct to the pump jumping all components and connections, does it run? It helps to have a shop manual to see what path the voltage takes to get to the fuel pump....good luck
