We need a lot more information to help you.

Surface cracking is often due to speed being too high, or temperature too low.

Rod sizes, process involved, lubrication... please tell us more

Thankyou very much......

material is AL3B (Aluminium 97% + Boron 2.5 to 3%)

extrusion speed is 5 to 9 mm

temp is 400 to 420 degree celcius

billet size 85mm

road size 45mm

container length 17 Inch

Die which i use is one conical type the other is bearing type 5 & 25 mm

The process of aluminum die-casting is a proper solution to get complicated heatsinks in shape. Compared to aluminum extrusion, for special shaped heatsinks, aluminum die-casting could save much cost of further machining. Thus, aluminum die-casting is widely applied in notebook chipset cooling and industrial cooling. Normally, the material used for aluminum die-casting is ADC12, whose coefficient of thermal conductivity is 96W/mK and just half of that of aluminum extrusion. Another disadvantage of aluminum die-casting is high tooling cost input.

Here Jesse, I'll credit your comment for you. We generally consider it bad manners to not do so.

I don't believe the casting and extrusion processes can be directly crossed in this circumstance.

I would first ask about your material selection:

I believe your Al3B is giving you the trouble, the alloy better suited to casting. Was this selected by a material engineer?

The material is inappropriate for extrusion process.

If he gave you a bundle of pig ears, could you make them into silk purses?
