Please describe the installation in which moisture-bearing lube oil has been discovered.

Maybe the bearing went swimming or something.

Slash lubrication implies a free space volume along with aggressive agitation of the gas in this space into your lubricant. This begs the question, what has been done to prevent water vapor from existing in this space? This does not preclude active or accidental tampering of the oil prior to use.

Condensation or seal failure from coolant system.

Is the lube oil in storage? Or is it in an installation?

More input needed!

"Water can originate from a variety of sources. Examples of environmental ingression are rain leakage into external reservoirs, seepage through reservoir covers, access panels, breathers or worn seals, and condensation from air in reservoirs and other system areas. Water can also enter the fluid system from the process side, from leaky heat exchangers or coolers, or direct ingression of process water, such as cooling water, washdown water or steam. Water ingression can be minimized with clever system design and good housekeeping, but it is difficult (and costly) to eliminate all sources of water entirely ."

"Cold machinery or environment."

Perhaps the 710 cap is missing, and the fill neck is exposed to the environment.

Ah, you may be correct, the 710 filler neck exposed to other sources of moisture.

Dear Mr. naumanmalik825

Pl. refer my post No.4, I for got to add - if cooling coil is used, for removal of the Heat from the Oil, or Forced Lubrication System, cooling water is leaking and mixing with the oil - that is one source for water contamination and it will create problem.

You have not mentioned the installation details. Unless you furnish correct installation, duty parameters etc. it is difficult to comment or suggest.

Thanks,

DHAYANANDHAN.S

The major reason that water can be found in lube oil is that about 70% of the surface of the Earth is covered in water. Your oil will be perfectly dry if you move to Venus.
