Nano-Powders Form Flex Circuits

05/25/2007 9:37 AM

Nano Silver powder technology can be used to 'print' microcircuits on paper and polymers; costing less than semiconductor technology. Customizing particle surface chemistry is the key to different applications — which include radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags, thin-film batteries, and displays. Nano Silver also has antimicrobial properties for medical devices and textiles.

Still you need wires to direct the frequency at least in textile materials.
Silver is not anti-microbial, it's properties of alkaline are enough to prevent bacteria growing. But will not kill microrganisms neither prevent ALL bacteria growing.

It's medically used in hospital towels, doctors and patients garment to avoid disperse infections like diphtheria. The nano-silver particles are "injected" in the melting process of a synthetic fiber acting like catalyzer in the polymerization of multi components before extruding continuous partial orientated yarn.
