BELT Sway & Pull Cord Switches

What is the control voltage normally used for BELT sway & pull cord switches for belt conveyors? and how is it decided?

Since you would typically be monitoring this with some sort of PLC, you might see this done at line voltage (120 VAC in the US) or more commonly now using dedicated DC devices operating at 24V. With all of the push to redundant safety devices, 24VDC is becoming the most common.
