I have about 100 of what I am rather sure are PMT's made by RCA that were given to me so time ago by someone who had no idea what they were or where they came from. What I don't have is the spec sheet for them despite my efforts to contact RCA/Burle they were not able to match the part number. I also am missing what these PMT's were originally used for or could be used for as well as a design of the driving circuit. In the past (but the links escape me now) I did find specs for similar looking PMT's but the part numbers weren't the same. Of the suggestions of uses I have heard so far include sensor for cars to turn on headlights when alternative light sensors were less common, Geiger counter sensor, and detector in a device to count particle density in a fluid suspension. The labels are not all the same color but the part numbers on them are the same. They all appear to be carbon coated (and now dust coated) but I did scrape the carbon off one to see what it looks like. The part number is S83001EA1 If anyone can find any information on these it would be appreciated.
I might be missing it, I see S83010E as the closest match on that page, although I know that one is not the same part and doesn't have the same dimensions or connector to the ones I have.
Try this RCA PMT Manual around page 81, has physical dimensions and base diagrams. Looks like those are a ruggedized/militarized version of something that you'll be able to ferret out of these specs. (Maybe you have a bunch of nuclear trigger devices!!!)
