Machine Design Problem

how do i calculate the diameter and the length of the dc generator if i am given the number of poles, voltage, power, speed ,B, ac and the number of slots.

Diameter = number of poles x B.

Length = current x speed ÷ number of slots.

You don't need the other parameters.

You have to choose lambda=length/tau tau=pi*D/(2*p) D=rotor diameter; pi=3.14159…

2*p=no.of poles Usually 1 >=lambda>=0.5 [lambda=0.75].

D=6+5*(Pi*p/n/lambda)^(1/3) [cm]

Pi=inner power [w]; n=rpm ; Pi=[approx.](1+eff)/2/eff *Prated

eff=efficiency [=0.8-0.95]; p=no. of poles pair

length=lambda*tau
