Wow.

This is a case of, "if you have to ask, you shouldn't be given the answer".

Have you asked Du Pont?

Have you consluted your local fire codes?

Have you any experience, at all, in fire supression?

Is this a real job?

Are you studying fire suppression?

Have you consulted the NFPA, or applicable, codes?

What have you, OP, done to get an answer to the technical question you have asked?

Do you mean test that FM200 actually works as intended, or testing of your fire suppression system which utilizes FM200?

There are 3 tests required for your FM-200 system.

1. Functional testing of all input devices (smoke/fire detectors, manual release and abort stations, discharge pressure switch, container low pressure switch, etc.), output devices (audible/visual alarms, discharge solenoid, etc.), and remote annunciation devices (building fire alarm panel notification, central station notification).

2. A piping pressure test.

3. A room pressure test to determine enclosure envelope integrity.

No discharge of agent is required as part of testing.

Dear All

Actully all the test we have carry out for all smoke detector/call point/pipe leak check/room presurization but the client intent to test the actual system by releasing the gas from the FM200 cylinder that is why in 1st query is it necessary to do the actual test.

That would be an expensive and unnecessary test.

Also, the test is useless unless you have the equipment to measure the concentration after discharge. Do you?

Releasing of the agent is only good for that single incident. You could say...yes, it worked that time. Who is to say that it would work again after the system was recharged and reset? It's a pointless exercise.

This makes as much sense as new car owners wanting all of the airbags tested in their cars when they make the purchase.

Do the bumpers on your car work at 10 MPH? How do you know? Have you tested them?

Do your GFI receptacles actually prevent shock? How do you know? Have you tested them?

See my point?

I see nothing wrong with testing so long as client will shouder the cost or it's cost inclusive in the budget.

You may opt to test the system by by using air tanks to cost less and test will be observable. (test if dampers, detectors and nozzles work) FM200 chem is quality assured.

Dear All

We have similar equipment in our project but the client request to test the FM200 inside the ceiling and below the raise floor, is correct or need to test the whole building. ( Control Room )
