Dust Sensor

02/25/2013 8:23 AM

Dear All,

I need to count dust particles inside an "industrial metal painting cabin (room)". Can you suggest any sensor that can count dust particles flowing in the air, and give me the measurement value as 4-20mA or 0-10V analog output?

Don't be such a grouch, Lyn

Here's my link for the fray:

GlobalSpec Particle Counter

A typical "google" search can get a million and one hits, is there something more specific that you can't find? Or perhaps Lyn's flurry of links solved your problem for you

Forget the remark about not liking work, and being a manager. We all have our moments.

Clean rooms are normally characterized by the number of particles per cubic meter. Do you have a means of turning the LV signal into meaningful numbers after you have the 4-20 mA signal?

You will probably be ahead by buying a turn-key instrument for this, given the apparent lack of familiarity of clean rooms.
