Short Circuit Current

02/27/2013 5:56 AM

Dear all

We have auto transformer 400/132/11KV,Impedance voltage (HV-LV 250000/3KVA 16.8%)

(HV-TV 75000/3KVA 14.68%)(LV-TV 75000/3KVA 8.77%) ,Rated current(361,1041,2273)Am

Please how can I calculate the short circuit current for tertiary winding(11kv delta connected)

Regards

Refer Westing House T&D Book.

Take a course in electricity.

Contact the transformer manufacture.

You cannot calculate the short circuit current with the information given.

You say you work at a substation, but given the questions you have been asking on CR4 what exactly do you do there?

This really is starting to sound like you don't work there at all and are just some student trying to get answers on homework questions.

You can try:

IEC 60909-4 Auto-transformer with three separate units Table 1 Fig.8

IEC 60909-0 ch.3.3.2. Three-winding transformers

IEC 60909-2 ch. 2.3. Table 3C.

However as Carl Pugh already said, it will be better if a trained team- a specialized power station or substation design company will do such a calculation.

Check out page 29 in the J&P Transformer handbook, good analysis but you'll need an understanding of the per unit system and symmetrical component networks to get it right, there's even an 11kV tertiary case in there.
