SS or Brass Regulators when Calibrating H2S Analysers

All

What would be the preferential regulator material to use when calibrating an H2S analyser and why. SS or Brass.

Well Hydrogen Sulphide corrosively reacts with Brass but Stainless steel is mostly compatible and unaffected, so use Stainless Steel instead of Brass.

As a side note, air conditioners fail regularly in our geothermically active residential areas in New Zealand (such as Rotorua) due to the brass tubes failing due to low but constant Hydrogen Sulphide gas exposure.

I'd use Titanium, if it is possible.

If not, I guess SS will suffice.

H2S like all sulfur loves copper and copper components like brass, so use 316L though nowadays you could ask for 307 which has better characteristics in the presence of Sulfur.
