Solid Grounding in LV Systems?

Why solidly grounding system is used in lv systems i.e 440V three phase systems? Regards, Saurabh

So that in the event of a fault occurring, the circuit protective device will operate, disconnecting the fault, and thereby protecting lives and property.

How can we possibly make this any clearer without sounding condescending?

Why do people jump to an engineering forum for questions that could be answered by qualified electricians...or anyone taking "electricity 101"?
