1600KVa 11KV/415V Transformer Voltage Drop When 350KW/415v Motor Start

Dear Mr. Luxmi Mourya,

It appears that its motor is taking very high current at the time of starting. A big starting voltage drop is observed, may be conductor size is not suitable/enough for such a long distance. what is the size of conductor/HT cable. May increase the number of parallel cables to avoid the voltage drop.

Ensure when starting the drive, compressor is in Unload condition.

Running o.k in DG means, if DG is nearby load, then no voltage drop and hence enable to take the starting load.

If DG is at distance source, then where is your capacitor installed!!, try connecting the suitable size capacitor at load end. check no other big inductive load is connected or running in the same panel at the time of starting this drive, or ensure capacitor bank for the source end panel.

Check the capacity of DG - it happens to me with York medium voltage chiller rated at 2500 tons, We double the capacity of Genset and working fine.
